MFH: 26 September

Today is the 222nd anniversary of the marriage of my 5th great-grandparents, Johann Theobald Bender and Maria Elisabetha Wagner. Johann and Maria were married on 26 September 1786 in Altenkirchen, Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.

Johann was born 31 March 1759 in Altenkirchen and Maria was born 25 January 1760 in nearby Frohnhofen. Johann and Maria had three children, two daughters and a son. Maria died 04 March 1813 in Altenkirchen and Johann died 24 April 1819 also in Altenkirchen.

Today, also, is the 170th anniversary of the birth of great-great-grandmother, Sarah Jane Walker. Sarah Jane was born 26 September 1838 in Indian Creek, Monongalia, (West) Virginia, USA. Sarah Jane and her twin brother, John, were born the eldest of the 14 children of Jonathan and Elizabeth S. (Lowe) Walker.

Sarah Jane married Andrew D. Fleming on 05 May 1874 in Washington County, Ohio. Sarah Jane and Andrew had three daughters. Sarah Jane died on 20 September 1920 in Lawrence Township, Washington County, Ohio.
