Today is the 212th anniversary of the birth of my 4th great-grandfather, Johann Theobald Bender. Johann was born 12 October 1796 in Altenkirchen, Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.

Johann was the only son and third (of three) child of Johann Theobald and Maria Elisabetha (Wagner) Bender. On 13 June 1816, Johann married Catherina Barbara Becker in Waldmohr, Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Johann and Catherina had ten chidren, six daughters and four sons. Johann died in Altenkirchen on 03 November 1852.
